Yet, this war did not begin in 2022. Russia's aggression against Ukraine stretches back to 2014, with the temporary occupation of Crimea and invasion of Donbas.
As the Embassies of France, Germany, Poland and Ukraine, we reaffirm our countries´ unity in condemning Russia's aggression that impinges on Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. We stand in solidarity with the brave people of Ukraine.
This war bears severe consequences beyond European borders. It threatens the fundamental principles of international law and the rules-based global order. It also undermines global food security, posing significant challenges for other innocent people around the world, including in Egypt.
In this spirit, cognizant of the fact that this war is not just a regional conflict, we stand with Ukraine not only for its sake, but also to safeguard the principles of international law. They guide us in all international conflicts, including the ongoing war in Gaza, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding them.
